NaCoWriMo 2010 - Keippha fu. by JaiLatte NaCoWriMo 2010 - Keippha fu. by JaiLatte
I finally finished! Few, now onto that essay that was due today. Whoopsie...

Word by word translation and script to "romanization" to follow. I just really wanted to get this thing up here before the due date. =3

Its a wise person telling a child how the world came to be and explaining why Kepa has three suns. If you read that journal from a while back you might have known this. =3

Very nice script! Is the text direction up-down?

Inventive! For my most developed conlang, Hra'anh, the traditional text direction is right-left on odd lines and left-right on even lines. When the Hra'vakh made contact with humans in the mid 21st century and many of them began to assimilate into Terran society, the flow for Terran Hra'anh was standardized as left to right. But we all know that's because I'm a lazy sod who doesn't want to write both directions XD

Ah! I understand! So its as if every other line is "backwards"!

Ohoho~ Well, as long as it makes sense in the conworld then anything is possible! :P

Forgive me if you are and I just don't know it yet, but have you joined #Conlangers yet? We'd love to have you!

Thank yeh! Though I realize now that I wrote that I made a mistake.
The language is called Hseishch and the world on which it is spoken is called Kepa.
XD
My bad.

Haha, not yet. For now it's just a hobby that I enjoy. But I might write a few short stories for it someday. I wouldn't be broken hearted if that didn't happen though. XD

I like writing the script from top to bottom because it kinda looks regal or something like that. I dunno. That's just me. XD

o.o I don't think I've done enough if this is 200 words for NaCoWriMo. ._. I'd better get further translating...

Also... I like the script, it's pretty. :3

Tell me about it. I'm still working on the spacing and letter sizes and stuff of my script... I just keep screwing it up. The one I just posted took three goes at it to get them right and I still had to adjust it a little on the computer before posting it. XD It's fun though. :3

Oh goodness yes, mine took MAJOR tweaking as well. It was horrible quality so I had to fix it up a bit. Ad a shadowy layer too. XD
I would have been quite made had I messed up because I have a symbol per sound! I don't even want to try counting how many characters are in that.

:giggle: Mines kind of the opposite. Some symbols have two sounds, other's have one and diacritic marks change or add or subtract a sound. Lol, and "words" are really sentences so the target of "200 words" doesn't help me at all :lmao:
I might just finish my Akaan myth and leave it at that. :3 I have too many other things to do, not the least of which a novel to finish XD

Well, yes, that too. But I actually write books as a hopefully future paid career - it's a bitch of a thing to get published in sci fi.. ._.
I've got to finish my NaNo, which is looking to be about 80,000 words total. But then I want to get back to my original series, I've got to finish editing book two, start book three and do some more research into another set of publishing houses I can query for submission for book one. Busy busy busy! :)

I absolutely love love loooveeee how your script looks here. Plus it's much less ambiguous than mine, so that's a plus! I'm looking forward to the romanization and translation! ♥ It's funny, I just realized that your world has three suns while mine has three moons.

Why thank you! I might put it in the boxier script later, but this will do for now. =)
That is absolutely awesome! So you've developed your world a little more then? That's so cool! Are the moons symbolic or just because? Also, does that mean your world is larger than earth. To hold that many moons. owo Bah, go away technical mind set. o=O

I've had that much set up for a while. Most of what I have is just general stuff, such as the fact that it is indeed a very big planet, covered in mostly water (85%!), many of the landmasses could be considered islands or island chains (there are only two major "continents" as we would imagine them), and the fact that there are three moons.
They are indeed a big part of Oteqashi symbolism and mythology1, as the three brother2 gods that, in some stories, actually are the motivation and pushing force behind creating "humanity" (wrong word really, but it'll have to do). They also have different stories about them, although only one of them I have put on dA...I just call it "The Three Brothers". I made a mandala for art class and accompanying story3.

1I would say that the only thing that has a larger significance would be the Tienen, which is said to be the place where all souls go to find their way to the new life. It's a tree on the main Otepashi-populated island, Entenja. (Although most of the people living on Entenja live on the other side of the island in the city-which-I-have-not-named-as-of-yet, the main Avershiku cultural center.
1.a ....I really need to write this stuff up in a journal or something.
1.a.I Great. I have footnotes within footnotes.
2Since the Oteqashi are actually genderless, I use gendered terms arbitrarily, and the word I use to describe them "Majoufava", is actually "sibling-animate-plural".
3 Which, now that I look at it, needs to be retranslated. I am putting that on my to do list now.
3.a There are also different versions of this story too. It's funny, because the one I have up is the sort of kid's version, the one I dislike the most. :'D
